Next Generation Honoree: MBRE Healthcare’s Krysta Bavlsik is a Change Agent
Krysta Bavlsik joined MB Real Estate in 2010 to head up the firm’s in-house research group. She quickly revamped the firm’s research capabilities and took on new projects with ease, such as starting a lease administration platform for the corporate services and tenant rep division. MBRE Healthcare President Peter Westmeyer noticed the quality of Bavlsik’s work early on, and encouraged her to join the division in 2012.
Now an EVP with MBRE Healthcare, she has played a pivotal role in the firm’s growth and current success, running the operations of one of the country’s largest private owners of healthcare real estate. In particular, she has acquired over $4 billion in medical office buildings during her time at MBRE, and is the youngest ever to be appointed to MBRE’s executive committee.
Those are just a couple of the reasons we chose Bavlsik as one of the National 2019 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s third annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
Upon moving to the healthcare division, Bavlsik engineered the team’s acquisition workflow based on economic priorities, and instituted asset management initiatives to save operating expenses and provide better service to tenants. She has helped build a team with a wide range of school and work experiences to bring new perspectives, rather than only hiring people with straightforward real estate pedigrees.
