Next Generation Honoree: Lendlease’s Christie Walker Leaves No Stone Unturned

One of Walker’s signature achievements also happens to be her first. She led the acquisition process for a parcel of land in downtown Brooklyn—the first foray of her then-employer TF Cornerstone into Brooklyn. When she identified the opportunity and reported it to her team, there was some skepticism that it would still be available to a developer that lacked significant experience in the area. Christie was able to drive the deal through and secure the property by “leaving no stone unturned.”
That’s just one of the reasons we chose Walker to be one of the New York 2019 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s third annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
Walker has spent her entire professional career in the property business, earning her real estate license right after high school. She has demonstrated a strong aptitude for unearthing unusual opportunities and underutilized assets in the crowded and competitive New York City market. She has also demonstrated some entrepreneurial foresight—a few years ago, she developed CribRater, an app to connect landlords with prospective renters.
