Next Generation Honoree: Gensler’s Cerise Marcela Leads Workplace Transformations

That’s just one of the reasons we chose Marcela to be one of the Boston 2019 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s third annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
As primary strategist for the Reebok Headquarters relocation from Canton, MA to the Boston Seaport District, Marcela led the real estate selection and workplace strategy process to position the project as a brand and business transformation tool. She worked to ensure the real estate strategy benefited the product-touch creative organization. Her leadership also positioned Gensler to lead a 12-week sprint to relocate all Reebok employees from a tall-cube work environment into a 100% activity-based, unassigned seating work environment.
Despite managing her growing portfolio and industry network, Marcela consistently makes time for education and mentorship opportunities for young designers, architects, and consultants. She is a frequent contributor to CoreNet’s “roundtable” events, and she holds advisory positions during the school year at Suffolk University and at her alma mater, Cornell University.
