NexCore Group Launches Construction on 60-Bed Northwest Transitions
NexCore Group began construction on Northwest Transitions, a post-acute care (PAC) center for Northwest Healthcare and Community Health Systems (CHS). The 60-bed, 61,000-square-foot facility is being built at 6230 N. LaCholla Blvd., on the Northwest Medical Center campus, in Tucson, AZ, adjacent to the hospital and Gateway Medical Plaza. Completion is anticipated for early 2021.
The two-story building will have two separate uses, as a hospital and skilled nursing center. “Northwest Transitions will effectively allow . . . Northwest Healthcare and CHS to manage their patients’ exposure to readmission by having multiple points of post-acute care under their control,” said NexCore’s Todd Varney. “With 30 beds dedicated to transitional care and 30 beds dedicated to inpatient rehabilitation, we anticipate this new facility to be a healthcare gamechanger in the growing Tucson market.”
Davis Stokes Collaborative PC is the architect, and Haydon Building Corp. the general contractor.
