NewPoint Real Estate Capital Elevates Susan Mudry to COO

NewPoint Real Estate Capital has promoted Susan Mudry to COO. She will work out of the firm’s Chevy Chase, MD office.

Mudry takes over the COO reins from Phil Spellberg, who helped to found and launch NewPoint, and served in the role during the firm’s first year of operations. While he is formally retiring, Spellberg will remain a senior advisor to the firm for the next year to provide strategic counsel and help continue to grow the NewPoint platform.

Mudry joined NewPoint in February 2022 as senior managing director for process reengineering and strategic execution. She will drive operational excellence across the firm, focusing on new product development, strategy and processes. In addition, she will continue to lead the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategy.

Prior to joining NewPoint, Mudry held a wide variety of leadership roles with increasing responsibility throughout her 25 years at Freddie Mac. Most recently, she was chief of staff to the CEO and president. Previously, she was the organization’s VP of multifamily strategy, marketing and offerings.

About Lisa McDuffie

Lisa McDuffie arrives at ConnectCRE via REALTOR® world, where she served for nearly two decades as communications director for one of the nation’s largest REALTOR® organizations. She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group. When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
