Newmark Names John Ward Vice Chairman, MF Capital Markets Group
Newmark has appointed John Ward as vice chairman of its Multifamily Capital Markets Group in New York. Ward will report to Sharon Karaffa, vice chairman and co-head of production for Multifamily Capital Markets.
With over three decades in commercial real estate, Ward brings a wealth of experience in originating debt products for multifamily and commercial assets, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA/HUD, and CMBS.
“John’s expertise and deep relationships with a diverse base of clients have solidified him as a prominent and differentiated leader,” said Karaffa. “As we expand our presence in the mission and workforce housing space, John is a strategic addition to our ongoing national capital markets buildout.”
Ward’s previous roles include Regional Manager at KeyBank’s New York office, where he originated over $2.5 billion in debt products. He is active in industry associations such as the Manufactured Housing Institute and Mortgage Bankers Association.
