NewMark Merrill Trades Melrose Park Space to Cermak Fresh Market

NewMark Merrill Companies has sold a 90,000-square-foot building at Winston Plaza, a 400,000-plus-square-foot community center in Melrose Park, IL. Cermak Fresh Market acquired the building and will open a new grocery store by the end of 2022.

“We continue to look for ways to enhance the customer experience at Winston Plaza and all centers in our portfolio,” said Sandy Sigal, CEO at Woodland Hills, CA-based NewMark Merrill. “Cermak Fresh Market is a best-of-class operator in the Chicagoland area, provides an incredible shopping experience and knows how to connect with each community they have grocery stores in.”

NewMark Merrill was represented in-house by Sigal and Brad Pearl along with Joe Parrott and Sean McCourt of CBRE. Cermak Fresh Market was represented by Dino Geroulis and John Roberson from Axis Realty. Kostas Kavayiotidis at Pacific Southwest Realty helped facilitate the financing.
