Newmark Establishes UK Science and Innovation Practice

Newmark has appointed Paddy Shipp and Rupert Dando to form its UK Science and Innovation practice, based in London. Led by Shipp, the new group will work with the key investors, developers, occupiers and venture capital investors across the UK’s core science and innovation markets. Jointly, Shipp and Dando have been responsible for leasing more than 2.8 million square feet in the sector.

The UK Science and Innovation practice will work closely with a number of the UK key teams including Planning & Development, Higher Education, Occupier Agency and Capital Markets. They will also collaborate with Newmark’s U.S. Life Sciences group, which has transacted more than $2.3 billion and leased more than four million square feet over the past two years.

Shipp joins from JLL, where he was head of UK Life Science Agency, while Dando joins as a senior associate from Savills.
