- James Whelan, formerly with J.P. Morgan Chase, has joined Bank OZK as managing director of originations in its real estate specialties group. With over seven years at J.P. Morgan focusing on affordable housing, Whelan brings experience from Bank of America and Anglo Irish Bank.
- ShopOne Centers REIT Inc. has announced leadership changes, with John Roche transitioning to Chairman while Chris Reed steps up as CEO and Mike Makinen is promoted to President. Roche, who led as CEO since 2019, facilitated strategic growth and joint ventures. Reed, with extensive retail real estate experience, aims to capitalize on industry trends alongside Makinen, focusing on operational excellence and portfolio growth.
- Skanska has appointed Jamalh Greene as regional supplier diversity manager for North Carolina and Virginia, effective June 10. Greene will lead outreach efforts to engage diverse stakeholders and enhance community relations, advocating for policy changes. With experience at Monteith Construction and NC Department of Administration, Greene brings expertise in supporting minority-owned businesses and fostering inclusive partnerships.
- Delancey Street Associates, in collaboration with Blueground, will introduce flexible, furnished apartments at Essex Crossing, starting at The Artisan on 180 Broome Street. Essex Crossing features cultural, retail, and healthcare amenities like NYU Langone Health and Essex Market.
- Avdoo & Partners Development has received approval from New York City’s Department of Buildings for their residential project at 110 Boerum Place in Cobble Hill. Scheduled to begin construction in early fall, the six-story building by Brent Buck Architects will offer 21 condominiums and amenities.
- Witkoff and Apollo Commercial Real Estate Finance have topped out The Brook, a luxury rental property at 589 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, and built by Suffolk Construction, The Brook will stand at 601 feet upon completion in 2025. It features 591 rental residences, 30,000 square feet of amenities, including an outdoor pool, and 21,000 square feet of retail space.
- Skyline Developers, led by the Wilf Family, has topped out 18 West 55th Street, a new residential tower in Midtown. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, the 25-story building will feature 97 luxury rental apartments and 10,000 square feet of amenities, alongside ground-floor retail space. The developement is scheduled for completion in 2025.
- The Hakimian Organization has launched Eight West, a new affiliate focusing on rentals. Led by Rex Hakimian and partners, Eight West looks to provide exemplary service, uncompromising design and amenities like music rooms and drone landing stations. Their inaugural project, SOLA in Woodside, Queens, offers 364 units with high-end finishes and extensive amenities, setting a new standard in residential living.
- JLL has been appointed by Hartz Mountain Industries as the exclusive leasing agent for the Teterboro Logistics Center, a new 515,421-square-foot industrial facility located at 1 Malcolm Ave. in Teterboro, New Jersey. Situated in Meadowlands, the facility features 40 ft. clear ceilings, 83 dock doors, 94 trailer stalls, and 331 car parking spaces.
- Marcus & Millichap has arranged a $7.5 million sale of a two-tenant strip center in Flemington, NJ. The property, located at 289 US-202, features Aspen Dental and City MD Urgent Care, positioned near Chipotle and Chick-fil-A. The transaction was led by Dean Zang, David Crotts, Alan Cafiero and Brent Hyldahl.
