- Monmouth Conservation Foundation (MCF) has appointed Steven Denholtz of Denholtz Properties and Dan Dirscherl, managing director at Ares Management Credit Group, as trustees. Denholtz and Dirscherl bring valuable business acumen, strengthening MCF’s efforts to #KeepMonmouthGreen. Recent accomplishments include preserving 255 acres in Colts Neck and Howell and receiving a $500,000 EPA grant for a waterfront park in Red Bank. MCF’s collaborative efforts have preserved over 9,400 acres in Monmouth County.
- GTIS Partners LP has named Sharon Liss as managing director for its U.S. Capital Markets team. With 17+ years in real estate capital markets, Liss will lead institutional fundraising and manage investor relationships. Reporting to Peter Ciganik, she will support capital raising for GTIS’ residential, industrial, and real estate debt strategies.
- PML LLC, an owner’s advisory firm, has appointed Scott Weisberg as executive vice president and COO. Weisberg brings over 20 years of industry experience, including senior roles at PCL Construction and Lendlease. PML’s projects including the New Terminal One at JFK Airport and the Port Authority Midtown Bus Terminal.
- Tax law firm Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP (FDT) has expanded its Tax Certiorari practice group by integrating the attorneys and staff of Cronin, Harris & Associates, P.L.L.C. (CHA). CHA’s senior partner, Laureen Harris, will retain her role at FDT. Harris brings over 20 years of experience in real estate tax law, having secured hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate tax refunds and savings for clients in various commercial real estate sectors.
- NHPF has appointed Eva Thibaudeau-Graczyk as director of Supportive Housing, emphasizing their commitment to expanding permanent supportive housing. Thibaudeau-Graczyk, a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience, previously served as CEO of Temenos Community Development Corporation.
- Greystone announced that William “Bill” Iacobucci has joined as senior director of Real Estate Lending. Iacobucci, formerly co-head of Fannie Mae’s Student Housing Finance Team, will lead Greystone’s lending in these areas. Based in Atlanta, he reports to senior managing directors Charlie Mentzer and Brad Waite. Iacobucci has served as Fannie Mae’s vice president of Multifamily Structured Finance. His background also includes roles at SunTrust Bank and Regency Advisors International, Inc.
- Morgan North, a 645,000-square foot redevelopment of a postal center in Chelsea, wins the 2024 NYCxDESIGN Award for Outdoor Space. Developed by Tishman Speyer, the project includes office space, a rooftop park, and street-level retail. The project team includes Montroy DeMarco Architecture, Shimoda Design Group, and landscape architect HMWhite. The building was originally a rail yard and then a USPS distribution center.
- Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. celebrated its 50th year by hosting the Metropolitan Black Bar Association‘s (MBBA) inaugural Elevate & Empower: Black Real Estate Development Symposium. The event, moderated by R&E Associate Shakiva Pierre and Jerome Frierson of Bronx Defenders, featured a panel of real estate professionals discussing community engagement and strategies to increase Black representation in real estate development. The MBBA is an association of minority lawyers in NYC.
- Adelaide Polsinelli and Natalie Sachmechi of Compass has brokered the sale of the Bideawee Animal Shelter at 410 East 38th Street in Midtown East. This 10,000 square feet property was sold for the first time in over 150 years for $4.1 million. Bideawee, a historic animal rescue organization, will continue its mission at new locations in Chelsea and West Hampton.
- Avison Young is marketing a 34,071-square-foot mixed-use commercial property at the entrance of SoHo. Built in 2019, the 6-story property at 606 Broadway features two national retail tenants on the ground floor and immediate occupancy for upper levels. James Nelson and his team from Avison Young represent the sellers. The building also offers outdoor terrace spaces and a private office entrance.
