New York-Presbyterian Unveils $1.1B Ambulatory Center
New York-Presbyterian cut the ribbon this week on its New York-Presbyterian David H. Koch Center, a 740,000-square-foot facility on the Upper East Side. Developed at a cost of about $1.1 billion, the ambulatory care center will begin seeing patients this coming Monday.
“Every decision about the design and operation of this building was made with the patient in mind, from the quick and easy check-in, to the private prep and recovery rooms, light-filled treatment areas and real-time status updates,” said New York Presbyterian’s President and CEO, Dr. Steven J. Corwin. “We believe it represents the future of ambulatory care.”
HOK, Ballinger and Pei Cobb Freed & Partners collaborated on the building’s architecture and design. Peter J. Romano and Company is the project manager, and Turner Construction is the construction manager. A 220,000-square-foot hospital for pregnant women and newborns, the region’s first, will open on the facility’s upper floors in 2020.
