  • JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality group has made two key additions to its New York City office: Carolina Bernal as senior director and Mackenzie Melikian as senior associate. Bernal and Melikian will focus on New York City hotel investment sales advisory while also contributing to national investment sales and strategic initiatives. Both were previously with Hodges Ward Elliott. 
  • Madison International Realty, a leading real estate private equity firm, has appointed Michael Siefert and Evan Abrams as co-heads of global equity capital markets. Siefert, based in Frankfurt, and Abrams, based in New York, will lead the equity capital markets and investor relations team spread globally across seven offices, overseeing Madison’s collaboration efforts. This includes existing institutional clients and initiating new relationships with prospective clients who seek differentiated real estate investment strategies. 
  • Bayview Asset Management, LLC, an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, named Andrew Smith as managing director, head of commercial real estate debt. Based in New York, Smith brings more than two decades of experience in real estate debt and securities. Most recently, he served as senior managing director and head of real estate debt at Kayne Anderson Real Estate. 
  • Midwood Investment & Development, a leading national real estate investment, development and management firm, has launched the Midwood Design Studio, an in-house interior design firm led by Shazia Shahid as principal. Shahid joined Midwood in 2010 and, since then, has overseen the design of some of the firm’s most notable commercial and residential developments by collaborating with top architects and designers.  
  • Architecture and design firm Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) promoted Chen-Huan Liao to partner. Liao’s promotion acknowledges his commitment to design excellence and innovation across the country, his ongoing mentorship of emerging firm leaders and his pivotal role in growing RAMSA’s presence in Asia. 
  • Kensington Vanguard National Land Services (KV), one of the nation’s largest independent, full-service national title insurance agencies, has completed the integration of BridgeTrust Title Group into its overall operation. All KV and BridgeTrust offices now operate as one business under the KV brand. 
  • DeSimone Consulting Engineering, headquartered in New York, has acquired Ohio-based MER Engineers, Inc., a leader in precast and tilt-up design and detailing. MER will continue to operate from its Dayton offices under the DeSimone banner, providing engineer of record services, tilt-up and precast design, detailing, and shop drawing preparation, as well as panel erection and temporary erection engineering. 
  • Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP recently opened a Suffolk County office at the award winning 100 Motor Pkwy. in Hauppauge, NY. The Class A+ professional office building is located at the gateway of the Hauppauge Industrial Park and is directly accessible from the Long Island Expressway and Northern State Parkway.
