- Fifth Wall, reportedly the largest asset manager focused on improving, future-proofing, and decarbonizing the built world, announced Devin Murphy has joined the Firm as a Senior Advisor focused on further deepening Fifth Wall’s relationships with its 110-plus strategic limited partners and the real estate industry. Most recently, Murphy was president of Phillips Edison & Company, one of the nation’s largest owners and operators of grocery-anchored shopping centers. Murphy marks Fifth Wall’s second senior advisor, following Mary Hogan Preusse’s appointment in October 2021.
- Houlihan Lawrence appointed Michael Rackenberg as the new head of its commercial division. Rackenberg has been a consistent top producer since joining Houlihan Lawrence’s Commercial team in 2013, with a track record of selling investment properties throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties, Manhattan, and the Bronx. Notable transactions include two development sites in Port Chester, totaling more than $12 million; a $10.4-million multi-family building portfolio in Rye; and a $10.5 million mixed-use building on West 19th Street in Manhattan.
- Keyway, an AI investment manager designed specifically for real estate teams, announced the addition of Joe Moskowitz to the company’s leadership team as head of business development & strategy. Prior to Keyway, Moskowitz ran strategic business development and partnerships at Dealpath, and performed a similar function at VTS. Earlier on he was with JPMorgan in a business technology capacity at the institution’s Global Real Assets group (now Global Alts). Additionally, he is the elected vice chairperson of the board for OSCRE International, a nonprofit consortium enhancing real asset data through unified standards and knowledge.
- Alternative asset manager Bluerock has hired industry veteran Julia Phillips to serve as managing director and chief marketing officer. In this newly created position, Phillips will be responsible for leading the firm’s marketing and communications strategy and elevating Bluerock’s brand position. Previously a principal in Blackstone’s Private Wealth Solutions Group, Phillips joins Bluerock during a period of significant growth. The firm recently announced that it had entered a definitive agreement to invest in and enter a strategic partnership with The Townsend Group, a preeminent institutional real estate and real asset adviser.
- Sunrock Distributed Generation (SDG), commercial solar development, financing, and management platform, has appointed Claire Broido Johnson as president and head of origination. Co-founding SDG in 2022 and serving on its board of directors since then, Broido Johnson will now lead the company’s business development, origination, strategy, and certain operations. She has a 30-year career as a senior operations executive, entrepreneur, and investor with a proven track record in creating, managing, and scaling successful businesses and products in the solar and climate tech sectors.
- Alfred Sanzari Enterprises, a family owned and operated commercial and residential real estate firm in Hackensack, NJ, hired Christopher DeLorenzo as VP and director of leasing and marketing. With more than 25 years’ experience, DeLorenzo joins Sanzari from The Birch Group, where he served as EVP overseeing leasing, asset management and operations across the company’s 6.5-million-square-foot portfolio. Prior to The Birch Group, DeLorenzo also held the position of EVP for JLL’s New Jersey office.
- Skanska, a global construction and development firm, announced it has been awarded a contract by the New York State Department of Transportation to carry out the $635-million replacement of the Livingston Avenue Bridge in Albany, NY. The bridge serves as a critical passageway for Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor between Albany and Rensselaer, and its replacement will support higher-speed passenger and freight rail, as well as provide a pedestrian and cyclist shared-use path for safer and better access to cross the Hudson River.
