- Newmark appointed Sean Moynihan as the inaugural Tri-State Region market leader. Based in the firm’s New York headquarters, Moynihan will work closely with the Newmark leadership and brokerage teams, driving recruitment, revenue growth, client relations and business development initiatives across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. For the past six years, Moynihan served as Newmark’s Southeast Market Leader in the Atlanta office, providing strategic management to operations in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and Tennessee. During his tenure, he spearheaded the firm’s regional expansion.
- Dune Real Estate Partners LP, a leading New York-based real estate investment firm, has made a series of four promotions across the organization. Kaitlin Siehs was promoted from VP – treasury & operations to director – treasury & operations on the finance and accounting team; Alla Chertkova was promoted from fund controller to VP on the finance and accounting team; Jack Foley was promoted from associate to VP on the investment team; and Adam Mengden was promoted from associate to VP on the investment team.
- Madison Realty Capital announced that Brad Cohen has joined the firm as managing director and head of asset and portfolio management. He will oversee the firm’s portfolio monitoring and risk assessment processes in addition to implementing and managing asset management strategies to maximize performance. Cohen brings more than four decades of commercial real estate experience to Madison Realty Capital, specializing in asset and portfolio management, diligence and underwriting. Most recently, he served as senior managing director, chief credit officer, and head of servicing & asset management for debt investments at Affinius Capital.
- James P. Power has been named co-chair of Kramer Levin’s land use practice alongside Elise Wagner. Power will co-lead one of the largest and most experienced land use practices in New York City. He succeeds Paul D. Selver, who previously served as co-chair and will transition to counsel with the firm.
- Mount Street Group, a leading global provider of third-party loan servicing and credit asset management services, has named Rawle Howard as head of Mount Street U.S. He is described as a seasoned commercial real estate professional with more than 20 years of experience and a proven track record of structuring, executing, and managing complex financial instruments. In addition to his real estate finance expertise, Rawle has a strong background in leveraging technology to optimize CRE business operations and drive growth.
- The national law firm of Ice Miller has added real estate and public infrastructure lawyer Juan D. Reyes III to its ranks, based in Midtown Manhattan. He brings deep and broad experience in large-scale urban and rural municipal development, historic preservation, and the private sector. Reyes previously served as acting head and chief counsel of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and senior advisor and counsel to the Build America Bureau of the U.S. Department of Transportation from 2017–19.
- Jericho, NY-based B2K Development appointed Benjamin Hatz as the company’s new COO. With more than 25 years’ experience, Hatz has brought his professional skills to a broad range of real estate projects that included transactions in multifamily, medical office, hotel and industrial / warehouse/logistics properties in major U.S. markets. He is regarded as a respected and trusted advisor on strategic corporate decisions, structuring and executing commercial real estate transactions that drive business growth.
- Martin Cottingham, principal with Avison Young’s New York City real estate practice, was among the leaders honored by St. Thomas Aquinas at the college’s annual tribute dinner in Rockleigh, NJ. Cottingham received the 2024 Mission Impact Award, recognizing his philanthropic work, including as president of the Irish American Building Society, an organization that develops and fosters business, cultural, educational and charitable activities. In 2024 the organization and its board provided $50,000 to Catholic schools and organizations across Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
