- LeFrak, one of the largest privately held real estate development companies in the country, named Adam Silfen to the newly created role of president and COO, It’s the first time in its 120-year history that the company has tapped a non-family member to join the office of the chairman. Silfen has spent more than two decades with the firm and was previously senior managing director in charge of acquisitions and capital markets.
- RIPCO Real Estate has hired Matthew Ball as executive managing director. He brings extensive experience in leading teams of retail associates specializing in leasing, selling, and acquiring commercial properties for clients across various sectors and markets. Before joining RIPCO, Ball was an SVP at Retail by MONA.
- In other RIPCO news, the company has promoted Joanne Argenti to vice chairman. Argenti joined the firm in 1993 and brings more than 30 years of retail real estate experience, specializing in both landlord and tenant representation across Long Island and the outer boroughs.
- The Practicing Law Institute has named prominent commercial real estate attorney and author Joshua Stein to co-chair its forthcoming two-day program on Commercial Real Estate 2025: Distress and Defaults. The event is scheduled for March 25 and 26 at PLI’s Midtown headquarters, 1177 Ave. of the Americas. In other news, Stein is the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Online Community Contributor Award, conferred by the New York State Bar Association Real Property Law Section.
- A&G Real Estate Partners, a national real estate advisory firm specializing in lease optimization and real estate sales, promoted Douglas Bennett to principal. Since joining A&G during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic five years ago, he has led the Financial Reporting & Property Analysis Group. Bennett previously served as VP of Business Analytics and Strategy at Ashley Furniture Industries.
- Veteran retail real estate property management and accounting executive Eric Richter, SLD has joined Woodcliff Realty Advisors LLC, based in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. Richter, currently a partner of EXFLEX Property Services, LLC, based in Clearwater, FL, will provide property management services for Woodcliff Realty clients. He will maintain his individual practice in addition to serving Woodcliff clients.
- Canvas Property Group, a real estate investment and management firm, appointed Ryan Lichtenberg, CPA, as VP of asset management. He brings a wealth of experience in real estate investment, asset management, and financial analysis, having held leadership positions at Cedar Realty Trust, RXR Realty, Fortis Property Group and EMMES.
