  • Colliers has appointed Joshua Kleinberg as EVP and Richard Novak as SVP as the company continues to grow its sales and leasing operations in New York City’s outer boroughs. Kleinberg and Novak will partner and leverage their extensive relationships, portfolio and nearly 40 years of combined experience to develop a team dedicated primarily to mid-market sales and leasing.  
  • Industry veteran Corey Horowitz has joined Mohr Partners, Inc. as managing partner in its New York office. Horowitz will serve as one of the firm’s market leaders alongside fellow managing partner Andy Grabis. Before joining Mohr Partners, Horowitz was an executive managing director with Vestian and also worked in high-level director roles at Lee & Associates and Cushman & Wakefield.  
  • Eastdil Secured, L.L.C. announced that David Dorros has joined the real estate investment bank as managing director. He will be based in Washington, DC and will focus exclusively on loan sales, short sales and other lender-driven transactions as a member of the firm’s global debt platform. Dorros most recently spent seven years as vice chairman of Cushman & Wakefield’s Capital Markets Group, overseeing its loan sales business.  
  • Sayo Kamara, associate director of commercial leasing at The Durst Organization, has been elected to serve as the 2025 chairman of the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association of New York (YM/WREA). Kamara is the first African American to lead the organization. Founded in 1948, YM/WREA brings young professionals in real estate together to build relationships, advocate for ideas to improve the industry and the city, support charitable causes and foster future leaders with high ethical standards. 
  • Asland Capital Partners, a leading owner and operator of multifamily, mixed-use, and retail assets in revitalizing submarkets throughout the U.S., announced that CEO & founder James H. Simmons III has been appointed chair of the board of directors for the Real Estate Executive Council, a professional trade association dedicated to advancing the interests of minority executives in the commercial real estate industry. Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Simmons will succeed Basis Investment Group CEO Tammy Jones as chair. Simmons has served as vice chair of the organization since 2019. 
  • Newmark Group, Inc. said this week it has been named the world’s Best Commercial Real Estate Consultant by Euromoney. The Best Real Estate Consultant Award is given annually to the company that achieved outstanding success for its business and clients through its provision of market analysis and investment strategy. The honor was among four collected by Newmark, including being named the Best Real Estate Consultant in Latin America, Brazil and Peru.
