  • Newmark hired Matt Duffy as executive managing director to co-head its Capital Markets Strategic Advisory group alongside Andrew Warin, finalizing the specialty practice group’s leadership. Duffy and Warin will focus on strategic advisory and liquidity solutions, expanding client service and further enhancing Newmark’s leading high-level advisory services across asset types. Formerly helping to lead the U.S. Housing Platform & Structured Transactions Group at Eastdil Secured, Duffy has led sales, joint ventures, equity raises and capitalizations ranging from approximately $50 million to $4 billion on behalf of large public and private entities across the U.S.
  • Cushman & Wakefield has hired Matthew Yance as a director for the firm’s Valuation & Advisory group as part of the senior living and care specialty practice. Based out of the firm’s New York office, Yance will focus on institutional valuations and market studies across the U.S. Previously, he was at Newmark, where he co-led the senior housing and healthcare team.
  • Commercial real estate expert Beth Moore has joined STO Building Group to help lead the firm’s Global Services Group. As SVP and director of global services, Moore will co-lead the group with SVP Roger Saleeby. She joins STOBG from Raise Commercial Real Estate, where she served as head of strategic growth. Moore’s background also includes roles at WeWork, CBRE, and JLL, ranging from occupier advisory and office leasing roles to account sales and product launches. Joining Moore is senior real estate professional Oliver Petrovic, now VP of business development for STOBG Global Services. Petrovic’s most recent position was at Northwell Health, where he managed a 10-million-square-foot portfolio. Longtime Structure Tone professional Lou Ottrando also joins the Global Services team as director of operations.
  • BBG Real Estate Services, a leading independent commercial real estate services firm, promoted Scott Silverman and Matthew DeBlasio to managing director. Susan Kominski, senior managing director and head of the New York office, made the announcement. As the senior leadership team in New York, Kominski, Silverman and DeBlasio will be instrumental in driving the company’s growth and enhancing client services in one of BBG’s largest markets. These changes follow the departure of Jon DiPietra. His responsibilities are being assumed by this team. 
  • The Concord Group, a national real estate advisory firm specializing in strategic market analysis, has reopened its office in Midtown Manhattan. The Concord Group’s return to New York City underscores the firm’s commitment to clients clustered in the Northeast and its optimistic outlook for the real estate market in America’s largest city. The office is led by John Wu, a director who has been overseeing The Concord Group’s East Coast and Southeast teams with a focus on urban redevelopment, economic and financial strategy, and large-scale mixed-use projects. Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Wu worked in value-add acquisitions in Atlanta. 
  • The Alfred N. Sanzari Family Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving communities across the Northeast, has awarded nine grants totaling $50,185 for its Spring 2024 grant program. Grant recipients include Youth Consultation Service, Push to Walk, Community Meals Inc., Community Scholarship Fund of Teaneck, Emmanuel Cancer Foundation, Rebuilding Together North Jersey, Oasis, 180 Turning Lives Around, and Healing the Children NJ.

His tenure in B2B publishing stretches back into the print era, and he has served as Editor in Chief on four national trade publications. Since 1999, Paul has volunteered as the newsletter editor of passenger rail advocacy groups (one national, one local).
