New Vibe Coming for WeHo, Viper Room, Sunset Strip

Music lovers, Angelenos and perhaps some people who run bar tabs at live events will recognize “The Viper Room” as a Sunset Boulevard staple since 1993. That long run will continue, but with a new vibe.

A new (and, admittedly sexy) multi-use, 12-story project plans to begin construction in 2023 at 8850 Sunset Blvd. Silver Creek Development, in partnership with Miami-based architecture and design firm, Arquitectonica, has an updated design and plan for the Sunset Strip site. 

From the news release:

“We are delighted to bring forth this distinguished mixed-use project that pairs an unparalleled level of luxury and attention to detail with a historic location on the iconic Sunset Strip. The project is a complementary offering to the Strip and will include a five-star luxury hotel to make 8850 Sunset a premier destination in the heart of West Hollywood,” said Charles Essig, Managing Director at Silver Creek Development.

Arquitectonica brings its legacy of architectural beauty, design, sustainability and presence to this project. Accepting and processing feedback from the community, the developers plan to blend the project into West Hollywood, with an additive objective – including pedestrian considerations.

The residential portion of the design includes 26 market-rate condominiums and 8 affordable housing units as well as state-of-the-art residential amenities.
