New Tenant to Move Into Former Amazon Go Space in Seattle

Several months Amazon announced it was closing several Seattle-area Amazon Go stores, one location is set to welcome a new tenant. Madison Street Market & Deli will occupy the 3,800-square-foot space on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Marion Street, reported the Puget Sound Business Journal.

The market and deli will feature bread and baked goods, local beer, and organic groceries. Madison Centre is a 37-story office tower that was developed by Schnitzer West and Barings LLC. The property opened in 2017, and in May of 2022, Boston Properties, Inc. (BXP) acquired the building for $730 million.

Amazon opened its Go location at the Madison Centre in 2018. At the time, it was Seattle’s second location. In March, Amazon closed eight Go stores, including two in Seattle, and said at the time “it would periodically assess its portfolio of stores and “make optimization decisions along the way.”
