New Solar Panels for Cost Plus Plaza
A popular shopping center in Larkspur, CA is set to earn an extra $50,000 per year, thanks to a new set of solar panels. That works out to an extra 94 cents per square foot for the 53,000-square-foot retail center.
“Solar energy helps us increase revenue at our Cost Plus Plaza property, while also helping the environment,” said Ari Blum, partner with Rawson, Blum & Leon (RBL). “We believe our tenants and their customers appreciate knowing the property is producing solar energy.”
RBL, based in San Francisco, partnered with solar company Alta Energy to develop the photovoltaic array, which has 345 kilowatts of capacity and is anticipated to produce 540,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year — enough to power 50 homes.
Project developer BayWa Renewable Energy completed the installation. The energy produced from the Cost Plus Plaza solar system will be sold to MCE, a local public electricity provider.
