New Rochelle Ok’s 800K-SF MXU

The City of New Rochelle has given final approval to the construction of an 800,000-square-foot mixed-used development at 11 Lawton St. The project, which will incorporate the adaptive reuse of the historic National City Bank of New Rochelle building, will include a 24-story, 190-key hotel and a 48-story residential tower featuring 143 condominium units and 453 rental apartments.

Developed by DB Main and 11 Lawton LLC, based out of San Francisco, the project will serve as a focal point of New Rochelle’s new Downtown Overlay Zone. The 279-acre tract is undergoing a large-scale transformation to attract $6.7 billion in public-private investment.

“11 Lawton will be a centerpiece in the city’s ongoing redevelopment effort,” said Chip Erickson, representing the developers. “We are very proud of what we have produced in concert with city staff and community stakeholders, and look forward to realizing the community’s vision for this site.”
