New Restaurants Planned for Tacoma Mall Redevelopment

Two popular restaurants have been added to the lineup at Tacoma Mall’s planned redevelopment project, which is expected to break ground this summer.

Dave’s Hot Chicken and Bellevue-based Supreme Dumplings will not be part of the “The Village,” a multibuilding project slated to open in late 2025 led by the mall’s owner Simon Property Group Inc., reported the Puget Sound Business Journal.

The two restaurants, along with a Shake Shack, are part of the mall’s most recent redevelopment, which will be located on the west end of the mall’s property. The new restaurant lineup also includes Happy Lamb Hot Pot and Simply Thai Restaurant, among others.

Recent permit requests filed with the city of Tacoma call for Building A to be approximately 15,000 square feet with an expected construction cost of $3.5 million. A second building, dubbed Building B, will be nearly 10,000 square feet and is expected to cost $2.5 million.
