New Renderings of One Willoughby
Here’s a new look at the giant office tower coming to Downtown Brooklyn. FXFOWLE, the architect designing the tower, has released new renderings of One Willoughby Square.
“No one is going to mistake this building for an old building. It’s got a modern vocabulary,” said Dan Kaplan, a senior partner at FXFOWLE, to the Commercial Observer.
The design purposefully echoes the factory and loft buildings that are the most classical New York-type buildings, he said. “It wants to feel rooted in Brooklyn, as opposed to something that is in Hudson Yards or Shanghai. It’s a reaction versus the all-glass building.”
One Willoughby Square will be a 505,000 square-foot office building developed by JEMB Realty. The 36-story tower will be one of the tallest structures in Brooklyn — rising 495 feet over the city.
