New Life Science Buildings Come to Bedford
Redgate, in partnership with Optimum Asset Management and AEW, has completed the core and shell of Bedford Labs, a lab and research facility located at 100 Crosby Drive in Bedford, Massachusetts.
Bedford Labs’ first phase, a fully renovated 288,000-square-foot facility, is fully leased, with Sarepta Therapeutics as its anchor tenant. Redgate has secured approvals for an additional 300,000 square feet of lab, research, and biomanufacturing space at Bedford Labs to meet the growing demand from life sciences, clean technology, and tough technology tenants. Riverwalk Labs, a 168,000-square-foot lab close by, is set to open in October 2023 and offers various on-site amenities.
“Life sciences tenants have leased close to 1.2 million square feet of space in the Middlesex Route 3 Corridor since the beginning of 2022, over half of which has been new growth in Bedford. The submarket’s leasing activity is second only to Cambridge/Somerville across the entire Greater Boston region,” said Tom Hamill, principal at Redgate.
