New Home Sales Move So Fast That Supply Can’t Keep Up

The Inland Empire continues to be the state’s and country’s hot housing spot. Ontario Ranch again topped Irvine Ranch as Southern California’s best-selling new home community in 2021.

John Burns Real Estate ranked Ontario Ranch as the region’s top-selling master-planned community and the country’s number six community. The Ontario community had 1,011 sales last year, down 22 percent from 1,292 in 2020 when it was the nation’s number five community by sales, according to the developer consultancy from Irvine.

Ontario Ranch spans more than 8,000 acres and 13 square miles. It includes Brookfield Residential’s New Haven masterplan, which unveiled the major retail openings at New Haven Marketplace last year. New Haven Marketplace was developed by Frontier Real Estate Investments in partnership with CALSTRS and Brookfield Residential.

“New home sales continue to move fast – so fast that supply can’t keep up,” said Caitlyn Lai-Valenti,  Brookfield Residential senior director of sales and marketing. “At New Haven, this surge comes from a mix of desirable home designs at attainable prices, plus hot new amenities. The shopping and dining at New Haven Marketplace, including a food hall and a tap house, are walking distance of these neighborhoods. And working with the future-focused city of Ontario means every home is plug-in ready for super-fast Internet. We’re also investing in drone delivery, robot carts and other advanced tech conveniences.”
