New Generation Workspace Starts with Confirming its Purpose
During the past year, the office sector’s role underwent a fundamental change as the overnight transition to remote work caused implementation of often-underutilized tools. The result: a digital savvy workforce with the resources to make telecommuting successful, says Heidi Hendy, managing principal of H. Hendy Associates.
“So, how do organizations apply learning lessons? Enter the New Generation Space, a purpose-built hybrid workplace with emphasis on leadership, cultural experience, in-office employees, collaboration, innovation and agile workspaces,” she says.
Hendy outlines three steps to help businesses achieve future workplace solutions:
1. Confirm Your Purpose: listen and understand leadership as it confirms – or redefines – its mission, vision, values and culture. Assess work-from-home experiences and develop “how might we” questions to frame challenges and unearth solutions.
2. Develop a Strategy: apply key insights to real-world applications, test the impact what-if scenarios have on future office needs and develop a comprehensive strategy that aligns IT and HR.
3. Create an Experience: develop a workplace model that’s intuitive, features integrated platforms that track trends, and improves communication and user experience.
