New Ferry Line Opens for Astoria, Long Island City and Roosevelt Island

Wall Streeters can now take a ferry ride to their fancy, new apartments in Long Island City. The new NYC Ferry line connecting Astoria, Roosevelt Island and Long Island City to Midtown and Lower Manhattan opened August 29, 2017. Boats will run every 25 minutes during rush hours.

NYC Ferry now carries approximately 12,000 daily riders, and the Astoria route is expected to add another 1,800.

“NYC Ferry is off to an amazing start, serving more than 1.5 million riders in less than four months,” said James Patchett, president and CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation.
