New Fairway for Brooklyn
Fresh from bankruptcy, Fairway opened a new grocery store January 18. The chain now has 15 stores in and around New York City. The new store is at 2149 Ralph Avenue, in Brooklyn’s Georgetown neighborhood. The store squeezes 60,000 items — “three times as much as a typical grocery store,” according to Fairway — into 40,000 square-feet of space.
Fairway climbed out of bankruptcy earlier this year.
“We are thrilled to officially open our doors to the Georgetown community, and become an active part of this thriving neighborhood,” says Jack Murphy, CEO of Fairway Group Holdings Corp., who described himself as pleased with Fairway’s “strong outlook on the future.”
