264-units of dual branded hotels on way to Uptown Dallas

New Dual-Branded Hotels Soon to Open in Uptown Dallas

Construction on the two new hotels will finally get underway at 2910 N. Hall St. in Uptown Dallas. Merritt Development Group (MDG) was stymied for three years by Covid and permitting snafus, which slowed the approval process.

AC (121 rooms) and Moxy (143 rooms), will go up next to each other at a cost of $100 million. Construction is expected to begin in May and take about 20 months. The combined 264-room, 25,000 square foot dual-brand hotels AC and Moxy, are both upscale Marriott chains. The former is an urban boutique hotel geared toward older travelers, and the latter caters to a slightly younger demographic.

Each brand will have its own lobby and entrance but will share some amenities. The average daily rate at the 19 floor Uptown property will be approximately $230 which MDG says is significantly lower than other properties in the area.
