New Dolby Headquarters Opens on Market Street

Dolby Laboratories has opened a new headquarters building at 1275 Market St.

The new Dolby headquarters building totals 300,000 square feet and is 16 stories high, with an additional three levels below ground. To design the new space, Dolby’s management hired 21 artists who made works interpreting the many areas in which the audio company has been a pioneer in its field. The Dolby headquarters, in a former state insurance building, also has open spaces as opposed to work cubicles, and 18,000 square feet of outside terraces.
Additionally, a 60-foot-long video monitor in the lobby is visible to pedestrians on Market Street.
