New CVS Planned for Vacant Site Near Wrigley Field

Locally-based Terraco Real Estate will build a CVS store near Wrigley Field, Crain’s Chicago Business reported.

After trying to bring a new bar and restaurant to a redevelopment across the street from Wrigley Field, a local real estate firm has inked a deal for a CVS there instead. The drugstore chain will open at 1035 W. Addison St., where a longstanding auto repair shop was recently demolished.

Cook County records show a venture of Terraco and Chicago-based Marc Realty paid $5.8 million in 2017 for a small brick building on the site, which housed longtime retail tenants Luis Auto Repair and Box Office Tickets, Crain’s reported.

The Terraco venture initially planned to convert the existing brick building into a restaurant and bar, with a rooftop patio just steps from the ballpark. Instead, it opted to raze the structure earlier this year and line up a new development with CVS.
