New Center Breaks Ground Along Roosevelt Retail Corridor

Groundbreaking was held recently for a new, 42,000-square-foot retail development at 637-647 W. Roosevelt Rd. Developer 635-647 W. Roosevelt Road LLC and general contractor Global Builders Inc. hosted the ceremony, with Alderman Patrick D. Thompson in attendance along with representatives from Bob’s Discount Furniture, the Near South Planning Board, and NKF, which is leasing the property.

Bob’s will lease the top two floors at 637-647 W. Roosevelt, which is set for completion this fall. NKF’s James Schutter, Terry Alexa and Luke Sementa have been assigned to lease up the remaining 10,000 square feet.

“637-647 W. Roosevelt is a premier retail development of the Roosevelt retail corridor and once complete, will serve the South Loop, West Loop and Chinatown neighborhoods,” said Schutter. “There is a great deal of prospective tenant interest in the high-profile, street-level, small shop space that offers an outstanding location.”
