The Canopy RV Resort in New Braunfels hopes to capitalize on lot shortages

New Braunfels RV Resort Piles on the Extras

Recreational vehicles sales skyrocketed during the Covid pandemic. That caused the RV parks to regularly fill up, and the supply has not caught up. The San Antonio Express-News reports a San Antonio group of developers are trying to capitalize on that by opening The Canopy Resort, a 295 site, 44-acre property located between Interstates 10 and 35, near the Schlitterbahn water park and the Guadalupe River, and within an hour’s drive of San Antonio and Austin.

Like a number of recently opened RV parks, the developers are trying to attract business by piling on the amenities. Pickleball courts, dog washing stations, a gym, pool and Wi-Fi are just the start. The Canopy Resort will include a 6,000 square foot clubhouse, playground, six bathhouses, laundry facilities, hiking trails, large screen TVs, BBQ areas and a convenience store stocked with firewood, snacks, beer and wine. There will be space for events, including holiday-themed programs.

Rates will range from $80 to just over $100 a night. Prices for those staying multiple months start at $750 or $775 per month depending on the type of lot.
