Taroko batting cages coming to Katy

New Baseball-Centric Entertainment Concept to Debut in Katy

Taroko Sports will open the first of a number of planned American entertainment concepts in Katy, TX (24539 Katy Fwy). A 20,000-square-foot complex, Taroko Sports’ centerpiece offering is its state-of-the-art batting cages, which utilize top-of-the-line technology to “gamify” hitting a baseball and establish a competitive element. Taroko Sports’ Katy location will have 10 batting cage lanes with two lanes of fast-pitch softball, two lanes of slow-pitch softball, and eight lanes of baseball – with pitch speeds able to be adjusted from as slow as 50 mph up to 80 mph.

Katy was chosen as the country’s first location because the company believes that the area has the highest baseball participation among grade-school players.

Taroko Sports will offer pitching cages, air hockey, basketball “pop-a-shot,” FPS (first-person shooter) video arcade games, miniature bowling, electronic darts, and several best-in-class 5D racing simulators. The center will also offer plenty to eat and drink.

Besides Katy, locations are planned in California, Arizona, New York, and Florida.
