Two of Elon Musk’s companies, Boring Company and SpaceX have set up shop near Bastrop. Those workers are going to need a place to live. Wood Partners and SCOA Real Estate Partners broke ground on Alta Blakey in the rural community. The developers will bring more than 300 apartments to a fast growing section of the Austin metro with plenty of raw, undeveloped land.

With construction already underway on the 342-apartment complex, pre-leasing is expected to begin in spring 2024 and the complex is set to open the following summer. The development will be home to one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments ranging from 723 to 1,580 square feet. Rent will be market rate.

Amenities at the development will include a business center with private conference rooms, resort-style pool, sun loungers and cabanas, outdoor grilling stations, televisions, yard games, on-site dog park, clubhouse and fitness center.
