New Affordable Senior Housing Opens Near NYBG

New York State Homes and Community Renewal, along with New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, joined Douglaston Development, The New York Botanical Garden, and community partners in celebrating the opening of 2850 Webster Avenue in Bronx.

The 12-story, 188-unit affordable senior housing development, located adjacent to the NYBG, offers residences to seniors earning up to 50 percent of the Area Median Income. Besides affordable housing, the property provides 12,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, leased to Cherry Valley Marketplace, and on-site social services through Fordham Bedford Community Services. Additionally, residents receive complimentary memberships to the NYBG.

Phase two of the project at 2868 Webster Avenue is currently under construction and will offer affordable residences for families and more retail space.
