New Affordable Housing Building in Northeast DC

SOME (So Others Might Eat), a DC-based nonprofit focused on combating poverty and homelessness, has officially opened Roberts Residences at 1515 North Capitol Street NE.

This 15-story, 92,000-square-foot building is the tallest in Ward 5 and provides affordable, high-quality housing to underserved residents in the nation’s capital. Roberts Residences offers 139 units designed for single adults, with 75 units reserved for those earning below 30% AMI and all units allocated for those below 50% AMI.

Through a partnership with the D.C. Housing Authority (DCHA), 75 of the units are subsidized, ensuring residents only contribute 30% of their rent based on their income, with DCHA covering the remaining 70% for subsidized units. The building offers amenities like a computer lab, library, classroom space, gym, and Wi-Fi-enabled rooms to foster community and viability.
