A Net Gain for Brooklyn

The NBA Brooklyn Nets basketball team might not be winners but for real estate In Brooklyn, they are a slam dunk. Twelve of the 15 players with guaranteed contracts are bona fide residents. This represents a stark change from last season, when the team was still practicing in East Rutherford, NJ, and only one player lived in the borough.

Chris McCullough, a second-year forward, relocated to a three-bedroom apartment in Crown Heights. Justin Hamilton, a 7-foot center, found a three-bedroom rental with 8-foot doorways in Windsor Terrace. Several others moved into a cluster of high-rise buildings in downtown Brooklyn.

And Brendan Burke, the new Islanders hockey announcer, lives in Park Slope. Burke counts bagels, egg creams and pizza as his culinary favorites.
