NEI General Contracting Renovates Cambridge Affordable Housing Complex  

NEI General Contracting has completed a renovation of an affordable housing complex in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which contains 300 apartments, 212 of which are for low-income residents administered by the Cambridge Housing Authority. The rest will be rented at market rates.  

Located at 808-812 Memorial Drive, the Rivermark project involved over cladding the 320,000 square feet of the tower’s ribbed face concrete façades, improving the landscape and community courtyard and updating the community room, activity room and computer lab, as well as lobbies, elevators and corridors. Other features include on-site daycare, retail space, designated outdoor areas, playgrounds, fitness centers, and communal laundry rooms.  

The project team included NEI General Contracting, Homeowners Rehab, Inc., Bruner/Cott, Peterson Engineering and Nitsch Engineering. The project was certified under the Enterprise Green Communities program.
