Two Top Firms Involved in Most Top Office Leases in 2017
CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield (C&W), represented the landlord or tenant in most of the 50 biggest lease transactions in New York City in 2017, according to new research from CoStar.
CBRE represented either the tenant or the landlord in 29 of the 50 largest deals. C&W represented parties in 16.
The next busiest firm, JLL, participated in 12 of the 50 largest deals. That includes the biggest office deal of the year, Blackrock’s lease of 847,000 square feet at Hudson Yards. Newmark Knight Frank represented tenant or landlord in nine of the 50 largest deals.
“We strive to achieve great outcomes for our clients, by anticipating their needs and working to exceed their expectations,” said Matt Van Buren, president, northeast division at CBRE.
CBRE’s deals include 21st Century Fox’ renewal and expansion for 793,687 square feet at 1211 Avenue of the Americas. CBRE also arranged News Corp’s renewal for 443,586 square feet at the same Midtown property.
