NDC Breaks Ground on Passive House Affordable in DC’s Ward 7

Neighborhood Development Company (NDC) recently held a groundbreaking ceremony on a new Passive House Institute Certified affordable housing mixed-use development at 3450 Eads St. in the River Terrace Community. The property reportedly will be the first Net-Zero Ready, PHIUS affordable housing development project in Washington, DC.

“This is the culmination of hard work and a lot of creative energy by a team of people that came together to deliver a truly innovative development for the community,” NDC CEO Adrian Washington said at the groundbreaking. “No single person or organization could have achieved this accomplishment in this time frame; it was truly the work of many.”

The building will be an energy-efficient, four-story multifamily project centered in Ward 7. Of the 49 units, 20% will be family-sized housing.
