“Naughty” Hotel on Tap for the River Walk

The Saint Hotel chain is readying to add a new property to its portfolio. Specifically, construction is anticipated to launch in spring 2018 on a seven-story San Antonio River Walk hotel, with the motto “play naughty, sleep saintly.” Dallas-based hotelier Mark Wyant demolished a Great Depression-era building at 151 E. Travis St. to build the new hotel.

The hotel is planned for 100 full-service rooms, as well as a restaurant and bar and lounge on the ground floor. The project already received preliminary approval from the city’s Historic and Design Review Commission. Developers will return later with more detailed plans for approval.

The Saint Hotel chain has two existing properties in New Orleans and Key West; Wyant owns the New Orleans hotel. Its theme is the “dichotomy between good and evil.”
