Nalley Valley Sees Another Piece of a Transition Puzzle

The Nalley Valley, back in the day, had a lingering smell of brine, some herbs and … pickles. Named after the Nalley pickle factory, the Nalley Valley is an industrial neighborhood in Tacoma, Wash. It’s also seen, with a possible tinge of envy, as Tacoma’s version of Seattle’s SoDo

Nalley Valley has been seeing its own, parallel, transition with its Seattle cousin, in the real estate market.

Most recently, the former Lucks Food Decorating Co. building has been sold to LBA Realty, a company based in Irvine, Calif. LBA has an office in Seattle and already owns nearby office and retail properties.

The 46,000-square-foot building was sold by members of the Lucks family. No permits have been filed for the property, which is 2 acres and sits in a district zoned for heavy industrial usage (first reported here, with online verification).
