MXU Coming to Maryland’s College Park Metro
Prince George’s County, MD officials selected Republic Properties, Pyramid Hotel Group and Mark Vogel Cos. to develop 2.6 acres of county land across from the College Park Metro station on Calvert Rd. in College Park, MD. The site will hold a 150-key hotel, apartments and approximately 7,360 square feet of retail space, according to Dave Iannucci, who is with the county’s economic development department.
The county is negotiating the property’s sale to the Republic team, and is discussing the terms of a binding contract. If all goes according to plan, construction should launch on the project in 2018.
The as-yet unnamed development is part of a string of hotel projects going north around the College Park area, including The Hotel and the Cambria Hotel. College Park is home to the University of Maryland.
