MVE + Partners Celebrates Groundbreaking on Second Spring St Tower
Two mixed-use, 24-story apartment towers are at the forefront of a revitalization underway on the Spring Street corridor in DTLA. Both are designed by Irvine, CA-based architect MVE + Partners.
Ground was broken on Wednesday for 732 Spring Street, a $164-million, 300-unit apartment project located at 8th and Spring. A sister project, across the street at 755 Spring St., broke ground late last year.
The joint venture behind the pair of projects is Arlington, VA-based North America Sekisui House, LLC, and Vancouver, WA-based Holland Partner Group.
MVE’s Matthew McLarand says the towers’ design was inspired by DTLA’s rich history as ‘Wall Street of the West’, and architecture circa 1920. He says these “unmatched” urban living experiences, at the nexus of the Historic Core and Fashion Districts, honor the past while being infused with modern technology, style and the desires of today’s residents.
