Multi-Use Sports and Expo Center Slated for Naperville

Calamos Real Estate LLC has acquired 25 acres of land across the road from its existing CityGate Centre development in Naperville, IL to build a new 4,500-seat sports and expo center. To be known as CityGate North, the project will be the largest multi-use, indoor ice, sports, entertainment and expo facility in suburban DuPage County.

The 245,000-square-foot facility will offer two regulation-size ice rinks that could also be used as basketball courts or expo floors. It will rise on land that Calamos bought from Senior Care Development of Harrison, NY.

“CityGate North will serve our community in many ways: providing more opportunity for residents to participate in sporting events, music and other family-friendly entertainment, and creating jobs and generating revenue for the area as a whole,” said John P. Calamos Sr. The firm intends to begin construction this spring or summer, with a possible fall 2019 opening.
