Muinzer Reacquires Village West Near Purdue U. Campus

Student housing investor Muinzer has reacquired Village West near Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, for an undisclosed sum in partnership with T2 Capital Management. The deal allows Muinzer to increase its ownership stake in the property, reportedly one of the largest student housing assets in the nation.

Los Angeles-based Muinzer originally acquired the 1,134-bed Village West in January 2020 with a West Coast-based institutional equity partner. “This transaction unlocks significant value and allows our original institutional equity partner to successfully exit,” said Marc Muinzer, founder and CEO of his namesake firm.

Muinzer began investing in the student housing sector in 2002 and today is one of the largest owners in the Big Ten and SEC Conferences, with plans to continue expanding its portfolio. “In 2023 and 2024, we are looking to acquire an additional $1 billion of student-housing assets near high-growth universities,” said Michael Snyder, COO of Muinzer.
