MTA Schedules 13 Public Outreach Sessions on Congestion Pricing

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), New York State Department of Transportation and New York City Department of Transportation will hold 13 public meetings virtually between Sept. 23, and Oct. 13, on the proposed Central Business District Tolling Program, also known as congestion pricing.

The first of the meetings will be aimed at residents of the Bronx along with the outer boroughs, as will a Sept. 30 session. A meeting for Nothern Manhattan residents is slated for Oct. 6.

“This is the first congestion pricing program in the United States, and it’s important that the public have an opportunity to learn about the proposal and to be able to weigh in,” said Janno Lieber, acting MTA chair & CEO. “We are committed to getting this project done quickly while providing the public real transparency throughout the process.”

The announcement follows the federal government’s go-ahead to begin public outreach on the project
