MRP Realty, Florida Rock Pitch Plans for Apartment Towers in Navy Yard

Developers MRP Realty and Florida Rock have plans for a duo of large residential buildings just to the south of Nationals Park.

The joint venture partners behind Dock 79 and the Maren have recently made changes to the project’s final phase, reported the Washington Business Journal. In an application with the D.C. Zoning Commission, the group plans to pivot from a previously approved office and hotel project, in favor of additional residential with minor ground-floor retail. The project would expand on the adjacent multifamily buildings, completing the broader project to transform a former concrete plant into a 1.1 million-square-foot mixed-use development.

The final phase would include two 130-foot-tall buildings, one with 309 units and the second with 281 units and 6,331 square feet of retail. The project would also have 385 parking spaces. SK+I Architecture Design Group LLC is the listed project architect, and St. Louis-based Oculus Inc. is the landscape architect.
