Moxy Atlanta hopes to finish before 26 FIFA World Cup

Moxy by Marriott Headed to Downtown Atlanta

Out with the old, in with the new. Developers plan to demolish a low-rise building and replace it with a new Moxy hotel in Downtown Atlanta. They hope to get going as soon as possible. Downtown Atlanta will host a number of 2026 FIFA World Cup matches.

The 183-room hotel would rise at 329 Marietta St., in walking distance of major Downtown attractions such as the Georgia Aquarium, Georgia World Congress Center and Centennial Olympic Park.

Nexera Capital and Emerge Hospitality Group are developing the hotel. The Atlanta Business Journal reports plans for the hotel were submitted in early 2022. The 0.35-acre site sold for $4 million in June 2022.

The hotel will feature multiple gathering spaces, including a rooftop lounge, a speakeasy bar and a ground-level open-air bar.

More than 125 Moxy hotels (by Marriott) are open across the globe, including one location in Midtown Atlanta that opened in 2019.
